Was
an outstanding football player (he was THE TEAM) from 1936 – 38.
St. Joseph Ponies M.V.P. Award in 1938 & 1939- Junior & Senior Years.
Biggest thrill was beating Benton Harbor St. Johns in football 3 of my 4 years &
tying them the third year (my Junior season).
Played sports for the St. Joseph Ponies in 1935, 36, 37, 38 & the spring of 39.
Won 1st District Basketball Championship in 1939.
Won District and Regionals and took 3rd in State Track Meet in 1939.
Defeated Benton Harbor. St. Johns Ponies in football- 35, 36 & 38, tied in 37.
College
Won a Varsity Football Letter his first and only year at Ferris State.
After High School & College
Played basketball and baseball with
Selfridge Base Teams in 1942 & 1943.
Nuke became the first black salaried personnel at Oldsmobile Division GM in
1963.
