Taught and coached at LMC from roughly 1970 to 1988 when he passed away.
Brought football team to 1^st playoff appearance for the school (1977).
Teacher and father figure for many students.  Excellent leader and coach.  He prepared you for life. 

Probably the most famous rivalry in the Red Arrow was the annual clash between Watervliet and Lake Michigan Catholic.  Between 1969 and 1986, the two programs either won or shared the league title 17 times.  For most of those years, the two squads were coached by the same men: Catholic's Terry Rose and Watervliet's Jerry Bartchett.  "They were the deans of the area," said Farac, who was an assistant under Bartchett for six years.  "The two had a great friendship, but it was a very intense rivalry."   

Catholic would utilize a more spread-out offense while Watervliet preferred a power-style running attack.  "Two interesting, contrasting styles of play," Farac said.  "It was a good theater of football."  Catholic's spread offense got the better of Watervliet in a 1977 thriller.  It was a windy, stormy night at Dickinson Stadium in St. Joseph, and both schools were undefeated at the time.  The teams had battled to a 14-14 score late in the fourth quarter, scoring their touchdowns with the wind at their backs.  But Catholic's winning score came against the wind.

Rose was 93-44 in his 15 years at Catholic, winning six league titles.
Catholic won or shared eight Conference Titles during Terry Rose's time as Head Football Coach.
Catholic reached the Class C semifinals in 1977, losing 59-8 to Orchard Lake St. Mary's. 

Terry was a Lions Club member & part of the Coaches Association.
He also coached at Concord High School & St. Joseph Catholic in South Bend as well as the LMC Ponies - St. Joseph.
