2010 "Laker of the Year" - Ginny Grove |
Mrs. Ginny Grove, the 2010 Laker of the Year, typifies what it means to be a servant leader. She has served the students of our community since 1969, and when alumni visit our school she is typically one of the first teachers they make reference to.
Ginny Grove began her teaching career in 1969. She came to Lake Michigan Catholic Schools in 1988 and has impacted the lives of over 1,000 students, just in her time with us. Ginny currently teaches Life, Earth and Physical Science and Biology to our MS students. She teaches with passion and vigor and her students respond in kind.
Ginny will be retiring at the end of this school year after nearly 40 years of teaching. She has been a trusted and respected colleague to the faculty and staff, and has earned the love and respect of her students. Ginny knows the ropes and her wisdom and insights will be missed.
Ginny has amassed an impressive resume; here are a few of the honors she has earned:
Recipient of the LMC MS/HS Crystal Apple Award
Honored by the National Wildlife Federation and The World Wildlife Fund
Three Time Laker Teacher of the Year
Three Time Golden Acorn Excellence in Education Award
Four Time Member of the Who’s Who Among American Teachers
Two Time recipient of the National Honor Roll of Outstanding Teachers
Recipient of the 2001 Disney American Teacher Award
Congratulations Ginny, our 2010 "Laker of the Year"!
