LMC MS & HS Bands Receive Top Ratings at District Festivals

Congratulations to the Lake Michigan Catholic Middle and High School Bands, who earned a "1" (Superior) rating at the MSBOA (Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association) festivals held at Lake Michigan College on March 8th & 11th!  This is only the 2nd time in school history that both bands received 1's at festival in the same year.


The LMC High School Band

The High School band performed New Forest March by Johnnie Vinson, The Russian Easter Overture by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov  (adapted and arranged by L.C. Harnsberger), and Centuria (Overture for Band)  by James Swearingen.  They received 1's from all three judges on the Main Stage (performance) and a 2 from the Judge in Sight Reading, giving them an overall rating of 1.


The LMC Middle School Band

The Middle School band performed Espana Cani by Pascual Marquina Narro, Fanfare and Fugue by Anne McGinty, and Thunder Drum by John Kinyon.  The received a 1, 1, and 2 from the performance judges, and an 1 in sight reading, giving them a 1 rating overall.
