2011 Elementary Teacher of the Year – Mrs. Kristin Cutter

Kristin Cutter returned to Lake Michigan Catholic after spending several years on “motherhood” sabbatical.  She returned to teach our growing three-year-old preschool.  Whenever I observe her classroom, I notice that Mrs. Cutter, like all great preschool teachers, must secretly sprinkle magic dust on her children.  She emits a quiet calm that still exudes an “I’m in charge” touch.  Most remarkably this year I decided to try an afternoon day care and Kris was willing to take charge of this new program.  She completely took leadership of the project; creating a daily schedule, room lay-out and lunchroom schedule that has been seamless.  Since this is our first year with this program we have encountered unforeseen glitches and hiccups; none of these have been a visible problem for Mrs. Cutter and all have been patiently resolved.  On top of all this Mrs. Cutter and Mrs. Glotzbach ensure that our three-year-olds are well-loved and ready for Mrs. Grundy the following fall.
