Mrs. Helen Koch, Lake Michigan Catholic Middle School Social Studies teacher, has been selected as the Michigan Middle School Social Studies Teacher of the Year by the Michigan Council for the Social Studies (www.mcssmi.org). 

Membership in the Michigan Council for the Social Studies is open to all public, private, and charter school Social Studies teachers.  Mrs. Koch was selected for this award by the MCSS from all of their teacher members from all schools.  She will be honored at the State MCSS convention at a luncheon at the Amway Grand Hotel in Grand Rapids on February 10th.  She will receive a plaque, recognition at the honor luncheon, $250 and a year membership to MCSS. 

Congratulations to Helen!  We are blessed to have her on Lake Michigan Catholic's staff and are very proud of her winning this distinction as Michigan's #1 Middle School Social Studies teacher!
