Reports
Pastor’s
Report
No report given.
President’s Report
Rusty Cutter commended those in charge of graduation ceremonies. We are
very grateful to Bishop Bradley for his attendance and participation in this
year’s ceremony.
Administration Reports
MS/HS
John Berlin submitted a written report. Highlights included the fact
that our Strategic Plan committee has now met two times and that we have gotten
a high rate of return on the surveys. Much work is to still be done, with the
next meeting likely in September.
We are projecting enrollment to be in the 540-560 range by the start of the next
school year, based on current registrations. We are disappointed that as of
now, our Kindergarten only stands at 18 students.
We are talking to Berrien Bus and First Student to assess the feasibility of
running a bus to the Sister Lakes/Dowagiac area, as there is much interest from
new families in those areas.
Middle School Teacher of the Year – Joe Jarvie – Middle School Band.
High School Teacher of the Year – Carolyn Simmons—High School English.
Cardinal Newman Award – Laura Jasper-Stump High School Science Teacher.
We have 25 candidates for our MS science teacher position. Those have been
narrowed down to four finalists. We should have our final decision in the
coming days.
Elementary
Jody Maher submitted a written report. Highlights included an
announcement for Third Grade teacher Pam Bodley as ES Teacher of the Year.
Also, teachers Pat Faris and Nicole Mills were recipients of the Capizzo grant
for this year.
Athletic
Director
Gerald Heath submitted a written
report. Our spring sports teams brought in 5 conference titles, bringing
our total for the year to 8. Girls soccer won it’s second straight
District title.
Thanks to all who put in a lot of hard work in helping us host the District
tournament.
We also won a District title in baseball, with hopefully bigger things to come
in the coming week.
We are close to getting Blue Tide going again.
Thank you to Jeff and Kris Nuter for donating the flag pole to the soccer field.
Next CCEC open meeting to be scheduled for August/September.
Motion to adjourn by Bill Grover, supported by Jody Maher.
Meeting adjourned at 8:10PM by Rusty Cutter
