Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School provides many opportunities for our students to be involved in extracurricular activities. Information about these programs is listed below.
Available to students in grades 6-12
Students have the opportunity to play Chess during lunch hours. Boards may be signed out daily
for student use-see club sponsor. Formal Chess tournaments will be played on a weekly basis in
club format at lunch and after school. Students may sign up for Chess Club anytime throughout
the year.
Available to students in grades 6-12
Drama Club is responsible for performing a fall and spring play. Students may sign up for one or
both performances. Saturdays are often scheduled rehearsal times. The Drama sponsor will post
and communicate participation sign ups and requirements.
Available to students in grades 6-8, 9-12
Students who went to French class in the past will get to practice speaking the language while
doing activities and help share with other students what they learn. New students who never took
French are also welcome. The only requirement is being curious and willing to actively
participate. Meet during lunch in Art/French room #110, once per week. Limit of 20 persons at
the moment.

Available to students in grades 6-12
Our Global Studies Club promotes Catholicity on a global scale. Students engage in discussions
concerning global affairs through the lens of our Catholic Faith. Local and international speakers
are invited to participate in our student lunch speaker series. Students in our Global Studies Club
provide opportunities to welcome and celebrate our international students and guests. Our Global
Studies Club includes opportunities to study abroad, host international students, engage in
service projects and travel for cultural and language immersion.

Interact is a Rotary-sponsored service club that gives young people an opportunity to participate
in fun and meaningful service projects while developing leadership skills and meeting new
friends. The basic principle of the Rotary Interact is to help others.
Available to students in grades 6-12
National History Day is a year-long academic program focused on historical research,
interpretation, and creative expression for 6th- to 12th-grade students. By participating in NHD,
students become researchers, writers, filmmakers, web designers, playwrights and artists as they
create unique historical arguments for competition at the District, State, and National levels.
Each year, more than half a million students compete world-wide.
Available to students in grades 10-12
The National Honor Society (NHS) elevates a school's commitment to the values of scholarship,
service, leadership, and character. These four pillars have been associated with membership in
the organization since its inception in 1921. Eligible and recommended students are invited
annually to apply for NHS.
Available to students in grades 6-12
The Sacred Life Club works to end abortion and embrace the sanctity of every life. Students
have direct input into available service opportunities, mission trips and Pro-Life marches.
Available to students in grades 6-12
Ski Club allows students to travel to local ski areas as a group. Students may individually select
dates they would like to attend. Transportation and discounted rates apply to club members. An
overnight ski trip will be discussed and planned for winter/spring 2023.

Student government is a group of students that are charged with managing a wide range of
events, activities, programs, policies and initiatives around school. Some members are elected by
the student body, and others may be appointed by the elected officials to help with specific tasks
or areas of interest.
